EfU is working out the 4th treatment stage for the Horb wastewater treatment plant with its own bachelor student.
The topic of trace substance elimination is becoming increasingly important. On the one hand, this comes from the awareness of the population, but on the other hand, the amounts of harmful substances are still increasing. Endocrine substances, drug residues and microplastics are now on the minds of everyone. Traditional wastewater treatment is not designed for this. The new 4th treatment stage ensures that the substances are removed from the wastewater before they are introduced into the local waters. With our bachelor student Leon Hamann, we are planning an optimal system for the 4th treatment stage for the city of Horb under the scientific supervision of the university.
