Improvement of air quality in Stuttgart with the EfU project "Reduction of fine particulate matter"
With the " Reduction of fine particulate matter" project in Stuttgart, EfU is making a significant contribution to improving air quality. By adding a process engineering component, the particulate matter emitted will be reduced by 70 % at the incineration point. As a result, approximately 370 kg/a less particulate matter will be emitted. The limit value for exceeding the concentration of particulate matter is 50 µg/m³.
"Since 2005, a PM10 concentration of 50 micrograms per cubic meter (µg/m³) as a daily average may also only be exceeded on a maximum of 35 days in a calendar year. Exceedances of the daily value of 50 µg/m³ are mainly found in urban areas at stations close to traffic. Source: Umweltbundesamt.de"
Accordingly, we achieve a reduction of 370,000,000,000 µg per year with this measure. 7,400,000,000 m³ of polluted air is thus kept clean. This corresponds to a volume of approx. 2*2*2 km or 7.4 km³.
The project represents a significant contribution to environmental conservation.
